Guardians Manager Provides Injury Update on Ben Lively

Cleveland Guardians manager Terry Francona provided an injury update on pitcher Ben Lively on Friday.

Lively has been dealing with right shoulder soreness and will not make his scheduled start on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox.

Francona said that Lively is considered day-to-day and the team is hopeful that he will be able to make his next start.

Lively has made four starts for the Guardians this season, going 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA.

In other injury news, Francona said that outfielder Josh Naylor is making progress in his recovery from a fractured left foot.

Naylor has been on the injured list since April 29th.

Francona said that Naylor is now able to do some light running and is expected to begin hitting soon.

There is no timetable for Naylor's return, but Francona said that he is hopeful that he will be able to return before the end of the season.

The Guardians are currently 25-28 on the season and are in fourth place in the AL Central.
