Food Lion to Open at Florence Mall in August
Former Piggly Wiggly Space to be Transformed
Florence, SC (August 5, 2024) - Food Lion is excited to announce the grand opening of its new store at Florence Mall on August 5th, 2024. The grocery store chain is taking over the former Piggly Wiggly space, which has been vacant since the store closed in 2023.
Florence Mall's landlord exercised their option to end Piggly Wiggly's lease in order to make way for a larger grocery store. Food Lion was selected as the tenant after a competitive bidding process.
Construction on the new Food Lion began in March 2024 and is now in the final stages. The store will feature a wide variety of groceries, including fresh produce, meat, seafood, and dairy products. Food Lion will also offer a full line of household items, health and beauty products, and pet supplies.
